jasper3
Being new to the world of pigeon shooting, Ive been buying things week by week so yesterday I took myself upto my Permission, had a good walk around, the wind was howling over the top of the hill i was watching the flight paths, the birds were flying past at an awsome speed  I looked over into a drop off the bunnies were out playing I walked halfway up the other field to find some shelter from the wind ....... perfect.... right beside a tree under the flight path I set a box of FUDs up all facing into the wind and set them up in different feeding stages , I Havn't got a magnet yet I then put up the Stealth hide I wasnt over impressed at the fact i could still see in from the front, I did make sure that the hide was infront of some dark hedge row..anyway..I was all set up..I put the Ghilli suit top on, and waited the 1st two Birds that came in were two rooks...I bagged them at the farmers request a few pigeons went past at such a speed i didn't shoot then they circled and came back towards the hide... they were now flying into the wind and coming straight into my pattern I bagged the two with 2 good shots..they were dead before hitting the ground well ! time was running out and I had to get home early the pigeon have been breasted and will be cooked tonight..I did let my boy have a go at picking up..he did fantastic so nice few hours ...learning all the time and enjoying every minute jasp

cocker3
nice one buddy youl learn somthing every time you go decoying i still do and i have been shooting 23 years just remember to walk out about 56-60 yards and look at your pattern and see if it looks natural. if the birds dont comit dont be scared to change it about during your outing some times moving one or two decoys makes the world of differance. as for the net you dont have to de totaly invisible just sit still when the birds are coming (its movement that scares them off ) in and only move to get up to shoot keep at it buddy it will all come good  cracking looking dog you have there too

12borejimbo
That is a nice dog, and good write up, its always nice to hear people admit that they are learning. This is a great place to pick up knowledge, and sometimes the best way to learn, is teach yourself!
