Cosd
I think I'm going to have a go at the clays this Sunday. I have only ever been 3 times, and since the woodies are keeping a low profile I thought I'd have a go. I don't understand the different types of clay shooting, skeet, DTL (I think) etc etc. Which should I be trying if I'm after practising for woodies which is my real passion? Also can you recomend wher to go, I live in Enfield.
Beardo
Sporting is what you're after - it replicates various type of field shooting.
Cosd
OK thanks, just saw the other thread that A1 do Sporting. Are the stands labelled for which type they are? How do you know if it is a sporting trap? Edited June 3, 2010 by Cosd
garyb
A1 shooting ground in Barnet Broomhills in Markyate. Skeet is also good practice for Pigeon shooting, you could do far worse than get yourself down to AC sporting targets ( http://acsportingtargets.com/ ) where they have most of the disciplines under one roof. Beardo
you can do the odd daytime shoot CosD can't you? I'm flat out working at the mo, but would be up for a shoot sometime soon. Broomhills is pretty poor at the mo, haven't tried A1 for a while but would like to get back down there.
garyb
A1 is also poop, although the coffee and cake are always superb. Hertfordshire is stuck for a decent clay ground IMO.
