steve0146
We have one working dog and one pet terrier, both live in the house. We are getting a lab next month and have run out of room in the house so have built a kennel for it in the garden. What sort of age should it be going into the kennel? I would like to keep her in the house till she is house trained but what age are people keeping their dogs outside.

steve_b_wales
As above. I once had a lakeland which I put in a kennel at 10 weeks old. He whined a bit, but soon settled down.
Lloyd90
go for it straight away to get the pup used to it. Bring it in sometimes aswell though to socialise and house train but just increase the time in the kennel each day and it should be fine
WGD
I have put pups in kennel at 8 weeks old before but the last 2 pups i've got lived in the house for the first few months. They are both alot cleaner in the kennels than the others that have always been kenneled. Agree with that. There is no problem in kenneling from day one especially in the summer but a house trained dog that is given the opportunity to toilet outside the kennel regularly will be a lot cleaner in the kennel. I do clean my kennel now and again, but really I don't have to because the dogs don't go in there.
