Gordon R
If you are right handed, the birds to your left are easier to swing on to. If you are going to your right - try speeding up a little and keep going - don't stop when you pull the trigger.

wacker
What chokes you using? Probably teaching you to suck eggs so apologies! Put tight chokes in as when shooting DTL the trap house is 16yds in front of the middle shooting position, plus when the clay is released, it will be a good 40yds away before you even fire! 1/2 and 3/4 or 3/4 and full chokes should be fine. Although i know someone who shoots it with 1/4. If using tighter chokes you should be able to see if your clipping the back of the clay when you connect with it - just push through a bit more to really crunch it up. Other than that, get some instruction as you can easily blow away 40 carts on one round!
HDAV
Are you firing both barrels ? I was told to stick to just one untill hitting 20+ otherwise you waste a lot of carts

GStrider
I would recommend coming to the next Fareham Clay Target Club DTL shoot. There is one on June 27th and another on July 25th. At the end of the registered shoot (usually just after 2:00 - 2:30 but can be later depending on entries) there is the opportunity for open practice. If you ask at the desk for someonee to help you out and give you a lesson after the competion they will arrange for someone to go to the range with you and tell you what you are doing wrong. They will be no charge as most people at the club are just happy to help people improve and there is always someone from the Hampshire DTL team happy to help out. You could come along and shoot the registered competition, entries close 10:15, then have a practice when it finishes or phone 01329 832335 on the shoot day after 10:15 to see how many entries there have been and what time it is likely to finish and the just ask at the desk before the competition finishes for practice with someone to come along and help. Its a very friendly club happy to help anyone Look at - http://www.farehamctc.org.uk/default.htm for more details and other shoot dates.
