Pigeon carts for a semi auto

Recommended Posts

Oh yeah thats right because it affects the timing of the gun............

WHO told you that **** Mr boy?

chrispti,

I don't understand what shotsize has to do with anything mate.

Anything 30 gram + regardless of shotsize should reliably cycle that gun.

I accept that the gun was not made with the intention of shooting 2 1/2" carts but maintain that they will.

I have shot my shooting buddies SX3 (same as maxus) with loads of different shells including 65 mm and its cycled them all.

Iv actually done it regardless of what the manual says.

:good:

The part about shot size was to answer the original question, ''Has anyone got any suggestions for 70mm+ reasonably priced carts for decoying woodies?''

I replied with ''Anything (70mm) with #6 or #5 size shot, will do the job mate :cry1: ''

As has been repeatedly explained, the cycling problems are down to cartridge length, its nothing to do with the load size or shot size etc

Again, as I have already stated in an earlier post above, ''Although, some have found their guns will cycle the shorter cases. Yours might, after some time and wear and tear''

My shooting buddy's SX3 wouldn't reliably cycle anything under 70mm. Unlucky him :good:

Cheers fellas, there's obviously some debate around what size should be used.

Going back to my original question, does anyone have any suggestions for 70mm+ carts (ie brands etc) - must be fibre wads.

Ta

As i said on my first post there are plenty of 70mm carts on the market ie gamebore clear pigeon & they do them in fibre. If you look at clay carts they are mainly all 70mm & you can get them in No.7 shot 28g & i can honestly say that the gamebore kent velocity are very good even the No.7.5 28g stuff. As for pricess it varys & have a look at just cartridges & look at the links with all the cartridge sites which give you info case length etc. Hull do good pigeon cart aswell & there game stuff but can be pricie.

After reading through we got an answer. :welcomeani:

Some of you Lladies need to relax a little , everyone's got a opinion or experience but it's not always the same :welcomeani:
