Mid wales not exactly close...... there is a ground in Abersoch (The Shooting School, Llanbedrog) never been and not cheap by the looks of it....http://www.theshootingschool.com/ no open practice days for July/August tho..... there aren't many in Gwynedd and Abersoch is a fair way from anywhere else http://www.wctsa.co.uk/clubs.html If you find somewhere let me know as i will be in a similar area that weekend, but thought i would just enjoy the beaches and mountains...

Not sure exactly where Abersoch is I like Llandegla, it's up on the fells so it's a pretty nice place to shoot.

Abersoch is the tip of llyn peninsula llandegla is wrexham perhaps 2hrs with holiday traffic KenG is from north wales so may know of straw baler or 2 worth calling bob valentines place to double check but i agree the website has no details http://www.glasfryn.co.uk/contact_us.htm used to do clays but it's a family fun place might be worth a call trying to think of any others....

Hells Mouth thats probably Porth Tochyn side (the even posher bit!) if you play golf Neyfn Golf Club well worth a visit as is Morfa Nefyn (popular with divers) lovely beach 30 min from abersoch if you want some ideas on things to do away from the tourist trap crowds let me know spent 15 years holidaying around there and my parents have a place on the north coast

BTW some good sea fishing to be had from abersoch
