CoolColonna
I have a gamo shadow sport air rifle and i wanted to make sure whether anyone would think that it would be capable of killing a rabbit roughly anything from 0-40 yards. (40 yards maybe being too generous) It can do the following 1200 ft/sec with PBA ammo 1000 ft/sec with lead ammo many thanks

Davy Holt
Hiya, that's impressive, at those speeds I take it you do have it on a FAC ?? As to your question yes it would be capable of killing at less than 40 yards in the right hands. Edited July 12, 2010 by Davy Holt
mick miller
You still need to know where to hit it though.
CoolColonna
I do not have an FAC but i got the information off a number of sites that it was capable of doing 1200fps, im pretty sure it is capable of doing though. Have a look at the website below http://www.airgunsbbguns.com/Gamo_Shadow_S...mo611004854.htm

I f you think the gun is capable of doing that get it checked pronto as you could be in serious trouble if the Police check it. CoolColonna
The bloke who sold it to me and my dad in the shop in Brighton said nothing about needing a fac license and seemed pretty relaxed about selling it to a 15 year old (me) should i still check it out? Davy Holt
Hiya, The bloke who sold it to me and my dad in the shop in Brighton said nothing about needing a fac license and seemed pretty relaxed about selling it to a 15 year old (me)should i still check it out? I'm guessing that since it was bought from a shop in Brighton that it will in fact be the UK spec version of the gun and therefor under 12ft/b but for your own piece of mind I would get it checked with a chrono as soon as you can. Colster
If you get it checked and it's doing around 10-11.5ft/lb with a decent pellet (not that PBA gimmickery - my Gamo loved any RWS pellet - Superdomes will do fine), then providing you can hit a 1" circle repeatedly then it will do the job on rabbits. Punch lots of paper first and only shoot live animals at or below the distance you can reliably be accurate and consistent.
