blackthorn
out yesterday with lanber shooting over wheat, we built the hide under a tree in the field, put the rotary out, and they just kept coming. had to give up at five, and they were still coming in ended the day with 214 birds shot, a few weeks before you could count the birds on one hand Edited July 16, 2010 by blackthorn

Cranfield
Good shooting , its always amazing how for weeks you see hardly any birds and then loads appear as if by magic.
blackthorn
not this time, or i would have put it in sporting pics, lanber even commented about not being able to take a photo. it was a bit of a rush to get out and some things got forgotten, so did the Cains and we had to rely on the whirly only
caeser
I was out with limestone cowboy yesterday, and had a similar day. We were on standing wheat, found a very small flattened patch about 15' across. Put a couple of decoys on tall sticks in it, then shot 80 birds and it started to slow down. So got the rotary out, and in they came again. We ended up with 160, we could have got a lot more, but I was too tired.(I'd been on nights and was lacking sleep). We stopped shooting at 6.00pm. We were still there for another hour, clearing up and cleaning pigeons etc, and they were still coming in. Gun had been cleaned and put away, so they don't realise how lucky they were.
