welsh warrior
been looking at many rifles for my new fac and im down to the cz 452 or rugger 10 22 prob the most common type any one can want. but i can the rugger do the same job as the cz in the feild? rugger looks more fun and you can get lots of add ons for it but is it worth it ? SSS
Strokes for folks. I have a 452 american which is nice and does the job. To be honest, what do you want from a rifle? IMO optics are more important. Go to an RFD and have a look at bothand form your opinions from there.

vampire
Nothing more reliable than a cz 452 american
Dekers
This is down to you, but as others have said there is no need for anything other than a 452....but there are lots of others rifles, and people go for them for all sorts or reasons..... bigstevouk
I've seen people with ruger's that if they miss a rabbit they end up chasing it and forgetting about there back stop by popping loads of rounds off....... i think the ruger is more a range gun for various comp's where speed firing and quick loading is required, as previously said the CZ is more than you'll ever need with lots of options also (trigger kits, stocks, mods etc etc) don't think you'll regret buying one.... njc110381
As the others said really, it depends on you. I bought a 10/22 when I got my FAC. It seemed like a great idea at the time and I have to be honest it was great fun. After a while though I got bored of loading magazines and the odd jam I did get (being a SYSS custom I didn't have many) always seemed to happen at the very worst time ie after a missed shot at a bunny and it was standing staring at me just about to run! I sold the 10/22 and went for some time with no .22lr at all. Then I decided it was a useful round and bought another, this time a short CZ bolt action. The bolt gun is great for field use - accurate and 100% reliable. Anyone who fast fires at live quarry IMO needs to calm down a bit and be a little more respectful of the animals feelings. Just because you have loads of shots doesn't mean that the first one shouldn't be made to count and be humane.
welsh warrior
but just cuase you have many shots doesnt mean you should spray and pray if you need to then you aint a very good shot to be honest ... but they do look like fun i went down my local shop today had a look at the rugger and cz but i also seen a remington semi 22lr m16 lookalike and i wanted it then haha and one know the propa name of it
