Colster
I sent this enquiry to a local gunshop yesterday: I have a variation in with the firearms office at the mo (all done, just waiting on the post) and am in the market for an HMR, my preference would be CZ452 Silhouette or Style in 20" (be worth knowing how much for 16" too though). Could you give me a price please? ...and here's the reply The better of the .17hmrs is the varmint in wood the bunnys dont like that one 130 /160 yards once set up with a nice scope for the job ,the recoil needs the gun weight to be resonably heavey to get the accuracey ,a scope with a fine cross hair is bestThe gun is £400 an ritcher optic scope for the job £135 Don't really feel the question has been answered as I don't know what length barrel he's quoted and to be honest I don't feel the recoil of an HMR really warrants extra weight when you're shooting off a bipod most of the time anyway. Hi, Could I suggest that he's told you exactly what he's got in stock and then added his sales pitch. Cheers

Exactly, I have a CZ452 Silhouette 16" in .22LR and love it to bits but as I'll still use that for lamping and the HMR for laying up I can save a few quid and have the longer barrel. Only looked through a couple of Richters, that was enough... thought they were both pants. Silpig - It's wasn't either of those but I know what you mean
steve_b_wales
I use a CZ 452 Varmint with 20" barrel. It suits me fine, and I find the balance to be excellent.
Evil Elvis
What a pile of manure!!! There is no recoil from a hmr and the richter optics are ok for a .22lr but if you pay £4-50....£135???!! I have the varmint in 20" and synthetic stock and was nice and light until I added a huge scope, bipod and a heavy mod+ sling and lightforce....Now have arms like Arnie!!!
