at long last i have just finished the kennel. took me a long long time but then i can't work like i use to so its a bit here and a bit there. i was going to use mesh but when i priced it up it was as cheap to by bars ready done.

its 3 x1.5m with a .9x.9x1.5m bedding area

i have made it so i can put a divider in the box and run for when the pup comes in to season as i don't want pups for a couple of years.

i cut the height on the bedding box down and used it as a cupboards for pigeon gear.

the box in the back it where the heat lamp will sit.

all the bedding box is insulated with that yellow foam stuff and then covered with 10mm marine ply and the run i have just lined with 6mm marine ply. i tried to make sure ever chew area had metal edge on it.

just need to find some of that clear rubber door stuff to stop the wind in the bedding area and find a good water bowl. then its tidy up garden and put a path in.

all this and i don't want madam in the house all the time so their both going out there.

she came home 12 days ago and is so differant to my other cocker. with luck she will not be as hot to handle as Teague is very head strong and very easily wound up to distraction. Keira seams calmer and a little more laid back.

she was 8 inch to shoulder at 8 weeks old. Teague was 10 inch so with luck she will be a little smaller.

just thought i would share the photos with you all.

all the best

Did you make that yourself ? thats really good mate :good: How much did it set you back ? If you dont mind me asking.

it wasn't cheap but it was a 1/3rd of a ready made one. the bars cost £130 delivered. the wood was £300 and the insulation, roof felt and other odds were around £50. base i hand mixed and cost £70. time took a long time. 8 weeks

i was going to insulate that bit and turn it into a chiller for the pigeons and game then the waste heat from it i was going to blow in to the bed area. i then i looked at the cost of that compared with a second hand drinks fridge from a shop. its now a pigeon hole.hehe.
