Ricochets will always happen with a .22lr virtually no matter what you're shooting at...

 

As the guy above says, just make sure the backstop is good.

 

Any spinners I've used with a .22lr in the past (although much heavier steel) have had a pile of lead cornflakes right underneath. The curved surface of the spoon might deflect somewhat.

what you can do to make a spipnning target is get a spoon and a coat hanger. drill a hole in the top of the spoon and twist the top of the spoon 90 degrees. bend the the coathanger into an "M" shape. then put the spoon on it so it sits in the "v" part of the hanger. push the two end of the hanger into the ground! then shoot and the spoon should spin when hit :blink:
