webber
My friend and I are hoping to locate a ferreter in the St. Helens / Warrington area. One farm over which we have the permission has a serious rabbit problem. We would like to bolt the rabbits to guns. If you are interested please PM Seasons greetings and a happy new year to all on PW. Regards webber
fert
if i didnt live so far away i would be glad to help. if the problem is as big as you say i would be inclined to wrap a long net about 50 yards away from the burys this. still enables you to have a sporting shot but any that you miss (not saying your a bad shot) will get entangled in the longnet thus reducing the problem of the rabbits in hand

webber
Lurcherboy, thanks I was ill again for a while, and returned to work and a load of problems, and then the winter got going, and weve been extremeley busy, which brings its own problems. Ive managed a few days shooting in the last couple of weeks, and need to come to work for a rest! Cheers webber
old rooster
My friend and I are hoping to locate a ferreter in the St. Helens / Warrington area. One farm over which we have the permission has a serious rabbit problem. We would like to bolt the rabbits to guns. If you are interested please PM Seasons greetings and a happy new year to all on PW. Regards webber Shooting over ferrets isn't always the safest way to go about it, it depends a lot on the terrain as any responsible ferreter will not want you shooting down hedgerows where his ferrets are working. You need open buries so that the bunnies can run well clear before being shot, that way the risk of also shooting a pursuing ferret is reduced. Long netting isn't always the answer either to be honest. If you need a good team to clear the rabbits as a bit of PR for your farmer rather than just for your own sport let me know and I'll organise a weekend trip to deal with them. Need to crack on as they are being caught with young in round here already !.

webber
Just an update. Dollseyes, his ferrets and Dad met up with myself and friend on Sunday. Disapointingly we only managed to bolt 4 rabbits, but did shoot 3 of them. The ferrets and handler worked well. We will do it again in the future. webber
