TJ91
SHOT GUN CABINET USED BUT IN VERY GOOD CONDITION TWO NEW 7 LEVER LOCKS FITTED WITH KEYS HIGHT: 52 3/4 INCHES DEPTH : 8 INCHES WIDTH: 8 INCHES. JUST TO ADD THAT THE LOCKS ONLY TURN ONCE TO LOCK,WHETHER THAT MEANS THERE NOT 7 LEAVER LOCKS I DONT KNOW,ONLY WHAT I WAS TOLD WHEN FITTED, AS ANOTHER EBAYER TOLD ME THAY HAVE TO TURN TWICE. I DONT KNOW ABOUT THAT BUT THE PRICE STANDS. Can anyone advise??? does it have to turn twice to be ok for my shotguns!? i need a cabinet as i am buying more guns and this is not far from me, it would be a good buy if its suitable, dont want to buy it then the feo say its no good!!! Gunny
My shotgun cabinet is an old Brattonsound that has two locks that take less than one turn of the key to lock or open. It was passed last year and the only comment my FEO made was that it was made of a thinner material than current models but was acceptable. Possibly, had it been for FAC then she would not have passed it (maybe) because of the material thickness but no mention of the number of levers of how many turns of the key to lock. apache
Worry not, I have 2 cabinets by two manufacturers and both lock with one turn of the key. No bother for FAC or SGC
steve_b_wales
I have three cabinets. All lock /open with half turn of the key. The one you mentioned on sale will be okay. :o

Brad93
If its got a kite mark on it check it applies to British Standard BS7558/92 and then it is fine as the police see it
clayman
While there is a British Std for gun safes, there is no requirement in law that a cabinet meets it. Its fair to say that having a BS cab will make for an easy approval, but the law simply states "adequate security", and that can be home made cabinets, fire-safes, tool cases, hawsers, secure room, anything as long as its enough to slow down entry to a casual thief enough to satisfy you FEO. As far as lock function goes, a simple deadlock only turns once, the double turning is when the deadlock also acts on sliding bolts. 2 lock cabs will usually be one turn, while one lock with sliding bolts will be two turns.
