out for a couple of hours on a local estate, at the request of the owner who wanted to shoot a few grouse, it was a bit hot, but thats not something you often say up here!!

the guns were way behind and took ten minutes to reach us, i think they thought theyd wait until i checked over the far bit to save them walking, except the grouse were there.....

3.5 brace for 2 hours, which is decent for this ground all pointed and retrieved, live to hand by Lexi

super Lewis, she has settled right in, we had her a run in the truck on friday night, took her fishing on th river with us, nothing fazes her, id like to think she is going to be a good un :hmm:

Great account of a great outing t jack, well done. You must be very proud (deservedly so) of Lexi as she is such a young dog.

 

Right, the million dollar question... she can hunt, she can point and she can retrieve (with a soft mouth) so that puts her streets ahead of most HPRs.... is she steady to flush? ???

yes, she is, as long as you judge the flush, if the birds are close and she knows they are close she needs a fair bit of geeing up to flush, this can be a double edged sword as if you go too overboard it can create a run in, not enough, sticky points, i was always told you need a positive flush, now im being told **** the positive flush just make sure she doesnt run in ???:lol::lol:

 

so in summary to your question 99% of the time, but in a trial situation, then yes as id be overly cautious ??????
