tenbears10
Well done Flash. Work hard and you get a dog. I would go for a spaniel but I'm biased.

Teal
Best of luck mate, plenty of time before those exams, so try your best. For a first dog a lab might be best (born half trained!).
flash
at the moment we have a wiemerana and a jack russel cross spaniel, the weimerana is 12 and the cross is 4. the problem is that the weimerana is gun shy due to being in a serious car accident and the cross wont retrieve and chases birds and other animals. i think i will go for a spaniel as the price is less i think flash
harryhawk
What course are you doing at Bicton? Just down the road from me.
davhope
If it is your first gundog, then no contest, get a Lab.
Browning
Flash, I agree totally with Teal and Davhope, go for a lab if this is your first gundog. i think i will go for a spaniel as the price is less i think If you're thinking of doing it on the cheap, my advice would be not to bother at all. pigeon master
Flash, There’s some good advice there, I own a ESS and yes its my first gundog but they are high maintenance and if you looking at keeping it in the house then expect some damage to the house. I would go for a lab at your age, it will settle as a house dog much easier than a crazy springer. The PM
