henry d
Sorry mate but 8`s are for snipe(don`t tell FM) IMO 5`s,6`s or 7`s for Woodpigeon otherwise you leave a lot to a lingering death or don`t need to pluck them. Just an opinion !
Whitebridges
Sorry mate but 8`s are for snipe... Snipe and for *** shooters in Italy and Cyprus. As Henry d says 7,6,5's for pigeons.

I might well agree 7 but 6 and 5 a littel over kill over decks dont u think as the cartraige i was using is chilled shot a littel harder than lead 32 grams i would not like to pluck the bird after even 28 grams of 5 shot at 20 yards let alone eat it mind you 5 shot is not a very good load it is proven over the years no to patten very well it is however proven a very good chiouse for rabbits but on bird ie ducks i would prefur a 36 gram 6 if i felt i needed a 5 shot and i would use that a woodland pidgion shooting the chock in the gun has a lot to do with the killing performance of the cartraige
henry d
36gm-6`s=338 pellets & individual energy 2.8ft.lbs 28gm-5`s=220pellets.......3.52ft.lbs 28gm-8`s=450pellets.......1.7ft.lbs all at 20yds,yes they will kill but they will also pluck them. IMO I will shoot at 30-40yds with 30gm-6`s I still need to pluck them but I don`t need to spit out shot every mouthfull. Just my opinion.
