robc89
Think im gonna change my scope on my .22wmr. What would you guys suggest is the best magnification? Would it be better to spend a bit of money on a 8x56 S+B or Zeiss? Or buy a nikko sterling 6-24x50 or equivelent? Suggestions please as i have never used a fixed mag scope Cheers rob
Dekers
Get what you are happy with is the only sensible answer, but personally I would suggest a 3-12 or 4-16 scope for a .22WMR, 6-24 is too high for me but some like it! This is my WMR and this is what is fitted, the scope build quality is certainly not great and the Allen Key lock turrets drive me mad, but the glass is excellent Value. http://www.jsramsbottom.com/products/rifle...riflescope.html Edited September 5, 2010 by Dekers

Frenchieboy
For what it's worth I would have thought that something on the lines of a 4-16X50 was more than adequate on your rifle. I have a Nikko Stirling Gameking 4-16X50 on my .222 and can not fault it, especially when you think that this is a relatively cheap scope and the build quality and optics are excellent! macca
I have a 8x56 nikko sterling platinum (30mm tube) on my Kimber 17mkII. It does every thing I need. Fiddling with parallex on a rimfire is ridiculous. In reality your absolute max distance with the new jacketed projectiles is 150m. Eight power is more than sufficient The Nikko has mil dot. Glensman
I have 6x42 S&B on my .22 WMR. I would far rather an 8x56 and wouldn't even consider a variable scope as it's my foxing gun and I dont shoot past 100yards if I can avoid it... bullet boy
Got a S&B 8x56 on my .22LR.I thought at first it would be too much glass for this particular rifle but it certainly does the job well.
