I have got a quad bike and have been interested in some lamping but i dont know how to get over holding the lamp, driving the quad and holding the gun ?? I have got a air rifle bsa ultra 177 is this enough as i dont want to bother with a rimfire because im might not like it yet? Also what is the best speed to drive the quad at ? Also what is the best lamp money can buy ?

My quad has a headlight on the handle bars which is useful, I have upgraded the normal headlight bulbs to super bright ones and I just use the headlights  I find 7 mph a fairly good speed but in a high gear so its just ticking over not making too much noise

don't bother trying with just an airgun, you won't manage to get close enough on a quad. Either you need a shotgun so you can take them running or a rimfire so you can take them a lot further out. Best light you can get is one by lightforce but if you're on your own on a quad you will also need a way of mounting it

air rifle on a quad- not worth the effort in my opinion- far too noisey to get within range

try a gun mounted lamp and some good old field craft

Les

i used to shoot loads of rabbits lamping from an old V8 Rangerover with a straight through exhaust using an airrifle , just take it steady on tickover and you can get pretty

close , especially on a rainy night .
