the running man
Yes my indoor club weighs in the brass and lead, another club just chucks it on the gravel!, shotgun cases are a terrible waste I take mine home then bin them if I'm on the farm, leave them in the bins at the clayshoots. Whatever happened to these starch bio degrade able cartridges?
stefnc
It may be different where you are but being a gas engineer and always popping copper and brassery down the my local scrapyard I always get market value for scrap, whether its covered in solder or plastic- for instance if I had 10 kilo of empty cartridges they would take 2-3 off for plastic, wasnt taking the **** when i said you got ripped off as a few quid for empty cases is a bonus! I just thought you'd of got more !
paul99
Errm, how are you guys getting scrap value as brass when shotgun cartridges are just plated steel and virtually worthless? Spent rifle ammo is obviously a different story. ***Edit*** Actually just noticed MC had already posted this early on. I took the lead out of the bullet catcher as well and he told me that it wasn't worth him moving it about for the price, When I asked him how much it is to buy he said £1 a kilo. He would only offer me 40p. It is in my garage at the moment as Folkestone Engineering Supplies are going to turn it into shot for me. Highlander
Fishing weights, should have said 'sea' fishing weights! OR duck decoy weights! You can make those at home.
