Mr Potter
Yes I'll be there, scraped into the Cheshire team again as a result of a couple of respectable scores at Doveridge earlier in the year, an 89 and an 85. Since then I've had a serious dip in form culminating in that awful 67 at the British Open so I feel a bit of a fraud really but I'll do my best for God's own county. I take it you'll be there K, I assume you're in the Staffs team? Mr Potter
Salopian
According to the CPSA 'Doveridge 26th September 'Open Practice' Why oh why do we bother with the CPSA? They cannot even promote their own events.

Mr Potter Yes A i am in the Staffs team, though I think it will be a tough shoot again and I wouldnt be suprised if they had one or two birds still on from the British. It can not be a close as last year when Staffs beat Cheshire by one clay. Good Luck (not to much ) and see you in the morning. Nicky T
So did Staffordshire sucessfully defend their title Keith?
Claybuster
So did Staffordshire sucessfully defend their title Keith? Yes Nick, I think we won by 53 clays so not as close as last year when we beat Cheshire by a single clay. It was another tough Doveridge shoot with the scores similar to the British. I shot 85 and 89 was joint HG so i was pleased with that but I was a little sloppy on a couple of stands which cost me about 4 or 5 birds. Not sure of the final placings as I did not stay for the presentations. Regards K

Regards K I thought it was a very clever ploy by some Cheshire shooters to crowd around the cages not allowing following shooters to see the line of the targets on stand 9 & 14. Nothing illegal in that but it did make it tricky to shoot without having seen a bird. Sour grapes? Not at all! In twenty years I have never seen that done before. I remedied it by politely saying "Excuse me", at which point they kindly stepped to one side and let me through
Salopian
I tried that, to no avail. You can be polite, you can teach good manners, you can teach good sportsmanship. But you cannot educate Pork
