Frank
Here we go again, some more foxes for you. Had a great night, plenty of calling and mating going on. Got these 3 on the same farm as last time, where do they come from , amazing. Off out again friday night to a new lamb call, farmers are dead juffed and lambs are safe, thats what its all about. johnskevena
Nice shooting lad. That is one big mother of a fox on the bottom of the pic.He would have accounted for a few lambs if he was left up to his own devices. What do you call with frank cause whatever it is it works. Was out myself tonight and called a fox in to about 30 yrds and completly missed him :<.I kept calling after missing him and he ran on to about 120 yds and stopped to take another look at us and i manged to drop him with the second shot but i should not have had to fire a second shot at the ****** and it has been bugging me since how i missed the first time.He was the first fox i missed in a while and over confidence probably set in and i did not give him the attention he deserved cause he was so close. Going to fire a few shots tmrw on the range just to see if everything is ok with my setup and more worrying me :*) Edited January 26, 2006 by johnskevena

Most of the ones i shoot that are lamb killers are big and are dog foxes too. Sorry to hear about your miss, its allways the close ones that it happens with from time to time. I missed aswell tonight if it makes you feel better and same as you, cant understand how i did. It was only one, it was sitting about 200yds away and i thought he would be down, it was the 4th shot of the night and would of been the 4 th fox :*) . I too rush to the range if i miss and cant explain it. As im off work, ill do that today just to make sure. The fox i missed, will have to be dealt with one way or another, i hate leaving rubbish after me. Edited January 26, 2006 by Frank
henry d
"Shoot one fox and two come to the funeral!" it`s a true one that,if you shoot a dominant dog then the less dominant or the next nearest ones come in to see why they aren`t being chased off.If it`s a vixen then it could be that the next two vixens territories absorbe into the one that has just been "vacated" therefore it looks like more have arrived. You`re just creating a fluid set of territories and doing a damn fine job to matey Well Done !

Frank
Yes, what do you call them in with frank? Great shooting again mate Mostly the back of my hand if i call them. Am practising with fox whistle too. In most cases whilst out lamping the fox is their in the feild when i switch the lamp on, if his not too far, i shoot it, if his far, i will call, if his lamp shy, i bait and wait at dawn.
