bignoel Posted October 15, 2010 Report Share Posted October 15, 2010 i know i asked this before but time goes by and you just dont find the time to sort things out but here goes .my fourtrak out lamping turnd her off tried to start her and all indications show a flat battery quick bump away she goes and doesnt do it again the volt reader needle is idleing nicely but it is jumping from where it should be to low reading i changed leads last year now i can put a fully booted battery on and nothing might happen for upto 6/12 mths ?? or else it will happen every couple of trips no low lights all bright .any ideas or a place i can take it that they might have a idea with out checking my tyres first .noel Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

stubby Posted October 17, 2010 Report Share Posted October 17, 2010 I had the exact same prob on the vitara, and only seemed to happen while lamping, eventually found the prob to be, the wire onto the starter was a spade type and pointing downwards, and of course, driving over rough ground seemed to make it work itself loose, either that, or an earth somewhere else, low down thats getting wet/damp when out, mine would drive ok whilst lamping, but when turning off to gut rabbits at 3 ish in morning, and not turning back on, gets you a little worried Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
