henry d
I`m a happy bunny, as I have said in a previous thread, I have a Wildcat mod on my 6.5x55 and noticed that I can get a spare part for it to convert it so it can be used for my .222. The FEO, at my recent interview, said he didn`t know for sure what the "official" opinion would be, but if it wasn`t a complete mod, then it didn`t have to go on my ticket, even though I have a slot for one. So to cover all eventualities I have sent the firearms dept. a nice letter explaining what I have done and it sounded as clear as mud when I re-read it I now have the part and the rifle is being screwcut ATM so all being fine I can look forward to rezeroing later this afternoon. Two mods for @£100 more than the original ......... BRILLIANT !

al4x
be interesting to know whether it makes much difference Henry if you leave the 6.5 one in and use it on the .222. If not much it would save a bit of faffing arround and eliminate the chance you ever forgot to change it over as that is the biggest danger
garyb
Agree with al4x I'd leave the 6.5 insert in place even with the 223.

henry d
Forgot to add the 6.5 will generally be used from about now until April and the .222 April until October. I will have to set up some sort of failsafe system for it.
