jimi_impreza
Hi peeps I have had a total waste of a day today. It was not the best weather to go shooting i must admit but there were 100s of birds all over the place. I tried everything that should of worked but not one thing had any luck. I feel so angry that the whole day has been a waste i only shot 4 or 5 birds for my efforts.

jimi_impreza
Hi To start with i used 20-25 shell decoys then i put up 1 bouncer. After that i used my pigeon magnet. I was shooting over rape to start with then i tried to get under a flight line to no avail, then i went into some woods. Everything i tried did not work, all the birds were so lazy they would not decoy at all. JIM

Catamong
They've got other things on their mind.............namely mating - thats why they wouldn't decoy...!!!
supergame
The pigeons have got other things on their minds, but they will decoy. At this time of year it is best to shoot them at first light when they will be looking for a feed and also again from about 2.30 - 3.00 onwards. I'm going on a new sown barley field tomorrow, but I can only get there when I've worked in the morning, it will be roughly 12 when I'm set up. I don't expect to shoot many before 3pm, I may be wrong of course as they were feeding on the field at 1pm today.

supergame
Been out today on new sown barley. Should of stayed at home. Birds just not interested in decoying just mating. Need some wind to concentrate them on flightlines. First time in ages I have had a bad day on sowings, it was just a lazy day as far as the woodies were concerned. Hope the weather changes for weekend
