rodp
Question for the better informed amongst us please. I've been given about 300 28 ~ 8 12 gauge cartridges, trouble is they date from about mid to late ninetys. They were dry stored and look fine with no corrosion or marks / blemishes on them, will they be OK to use and what's the worst that could happen with them? Thanks Edited November 5, 2010 by rodp
jonesbach
if no rust on them, sling them in and shoot away! if you do get one that doesnt go bank, wait for a bit before removing|(in case a delay in firing occurs) had some paper carts older than this that did a fine job on starling control a few years back! Boristhedog
I've also just shot over 100 which were close to 20 years old, and all were fine. Just be careful should any misfire and as the previous poster said wait a short while before opening the gun (and keep the gun facing in a safe direction) in case it's just a delay before firing. rodp
Thank you very kindly gentlemen and as said, if there's a misfire I'll wait a while. Thanks
decoy1979
Personally I'd say they're far too dangerous for you to use, but I'll take them off your hands and dispose of them for you

Alycidon
I found a box of old Eley GP7s a couple of years ago, I stopped using 7s at least 20 years ago, they worked fine. Bit of rust on the heads is not to bad, I fired a couple today that had got wet last winter. A
