Nice one,

little do these pretencious landrover owning suburban dwellers realise that pheasant shooting is actually helping to preserve wildlife;

a; because a lot get away

b; because a lot of hedge building and maintenance takes place, with results for songbirds, stoats, weasels, mice, beetles, the list goes on.

c; because it supports other natural predators

Well done you, they are probably ignorant muppets. :*)

I always feel really good walking back to the car with a brace of fuzzies, cos I know its my sunday dinner and I njoyed the whole process of getting them there!! :thumbs:

"british wildlife preservation" ?

What organisation is that, its a new one on me ? :rolleyes:

My friend has an RSPB sticker in the window of his Shogun, but he shoots game and pigeons.

Very wrong to make wild assumptions on the basis of stickers.

i don't get that, so you help to save them then go and blow them out of the sky with a 12 bore :(

Whilst I'm sure the RSPB cares about and would like to protect all birds,

our quarry is not on the protected list.

Just because someone shoots, does not mean they don't care about the welfare of all creatures, including the ones they shoot.

Hi,

Being a RSPB member myself I feel I am able to give a good answer on that. I shoot birds that are pests and doing damage however I do enjoy the songbirds, waders and other wild birds etc that the RSPB helps protect through habitat management and research. Many birds would of become extict throughout Britain if it wasn't for the conservation that they have done to save them. :(

By the way I don't know if anybody remembers this or not but last year Shooting Times ran a large article on a Grouse Moor that was owned by the RSPB that had shooting and stalking on it. :rolleyes: The RSPB wardens also lamped the foxes and trapped and shot the crows that were killing the Capercallie chicks. :( The RSPB recognise the benifits that sustainable shooting can have on the environment especially for farmland birds because of the hedgerows planted by the gamekeepers etc. :lol:

FM :lol:
