20 bore cartridges

have you guys ever thought about reloading? it doesnt sound that daft.

i just did some pricing up for a friend who just got a 20. we worked out he could get £150 per k for loading 21gram clay carts. it wouldnt supprise me if you could load game shells for £180-190.

i did a total cost breakdown, thats with factory made shot too.

if lead shot was sourced for next to nothing, it would almost half the cost of reloading.

what it wouldnt cost you in £ it would in time and effort. if you dont enjoy reloading, dont bother.

if at all you`ll end up shooting the same shells, increasing consistency.i know my rfd stocks different shells all the time. i`ve never ended up shooting the same brand. (i did buy my shells in bulk, but get fibre shells from club)

Whats the cheapest 20 bore cartridges avaliable in your area???

We travel from Salisbury down to ladds at crediton to get 20s and 12s so they give us a good deal on both so the cheapest is on you doorstep, off the top of my head we pay £122 per k inc vat on 12 and a 1000 20s are £140 ish but we do buy 10000 carts at a time,I know prices have slide the wrong way ,and prices are set to rise due to vat

Ladds are the main importer of prima and have found them a good cartridge for practice

Yeah I am very good friends with Ladds, and they do seem to be the cheapest in the country. Prima are good cartridges too. Thanks for all your replies, just nice to know what the rest of you 20 bore shooters are using :good:
