Guest rimotu66
As above, my headlights are losing there shine so am thinking of up rating them but am unsure of the standard wiring/loom coping with more powerful bulbs. Has anyone done this on there Disco.
BaconBoy
i'm sure you can get a kit to upgrade your headlights with no messing with the wiring needed(try craddocks/paddocks etc)

markbivvy
The MOT rules are changing next year, as from December 2011 having an aftermarket HID kit will be an instant MOT fail. HID lights – Specifically those aftermarket kits that give the very bright headlight beams. Any cars found with these kits will be an automatic MOT failure. Testers are able to easily spot the difference between HID kits, and manufacturer fitted Xenon’s. Easy to spot as Xenon cars have suspension level sensors, in car beam adjuster, and usually headlight washers. Wiring harness inspection will also be part of the test, any chaffing, cuts etc will again be an MOT failure. Airbag warning light on also wins you a failure certificate. New noise suppresion test for exhausts. And a load of other stuff, check for tinted windows, lowered suspension etc
Dunkield
What about upgraded halogens like Osram Night Breakers?
PhilR
What about upgraded halogens like Osram Night Breakers? I've just put a pair of these H7 type in my Disco but they're 55w bulbs just the same as the original so are completely legal, I've also noticed an improvement especially as the previous car had OE bi xenons. Allegedly because the wiring of the filament is different to get the increased light output the additional heat created shortens the bulb life over conventional halogen bulbs.
