Sound mods are pretty much of a muchness! You can't stop the bullet breaking the sound barrier so your just killing the muzzle report and they all do that job !

I went for a sirocco SM116P! under £50 notes.

As for scopes the bullet has a very flat trajectory from 50-150 yards so I went for a fixed mag scope 8x56!

Hope that helps

Ive shot a few foxes with the HMR, but I have learnt that you need to keep it to a max of 150 yards and take them in the engine room. Scope wise I have an MTC Viper 4-16x50, very nice, I did have a hawke nite eye and a nikko stirling platinum nighteater ontop before.

Lamp wise I myself am in the market for a new one, I cannot decide whether to go for a Clulite Clubman CB2 range, or go the whole hog and get a Lightforce 170 and put it through the roof of my Fourtrak!

Depends on your situation if you shoot alone, or with a mate, or in a vehicle. So you could go scope mounted, or have a battery powered handheld if you go on foot with a mate. Your call.

James.

Lol I'm not allowed fox with HMR in my area :(

This is another daft one and a problem many face, my region does allow rimfire on fox and my .22lr, HMR and WMR are all so conditioned. Then again, so too are all my centrefires, but it was only around 3 years ago they eventually relented and allowed me to use my .308 on fox having previously said many times it was overkill! :hmm:

I do not consider a HMR as a first line FOX round, but there are times and places and situations where it has definately proved to be my tool of choice for the job!! :good:

ATB!

what have you got on your ticket, round us they count foxes as vermin or the new term pests. Always been able to shoot them with mine.

I'm with Dekers it has its place very handy at times when you don't want to use a bigger gun however a 150 yard fox gun it isn't

Darn right it aint a 150 yd fox gun! Many forces don't allow it at all on humane grounds and another licence it specifically for fox, i am with the former personally- BUT this licencing lotery has to change, we need experianced field shooters in these jobs for the boys departments asap
