Fisherman Mike
I dont have one personally but one of the guys I go shooting with bought one about 5 years ago with 80k on an M plate and hes now done 135K with no problems other than a slipping clutch which was replaced for about £175.00. The engines are renowned for their Longevity and as long as its not been abused should be a good deal at £1400. I would suggest you give the little blighter a complete oil change including gear box transfer and diff, this is something that often gets overlooked. You will find that like the Suzukis they are incredibly good off road because of their low weight FM. Incedently he stripped out the rear seats and lined it out with rubber mats and we take wet dogs and fishing gear and plenty of beer everywhere. Weve even kipped down in it a couple of times in France when weve been carping... a bit cramped but pretty cosy !

old rooster
Sportrak is the baby brother of the Fourtrak and normally petrol rather than diesel. Only trouble you'll find is that buying either of the Daihatsu's rather than an unreliable Rover product will see you put in the "hairdressers" category. If you like messing with ****ty old cars go rover, if you want to use it to transport you to your shooting venue get the reliability of the daihatsu. DaveK
Daihatsus will go on forever. Almost as good as a Landrover. I had a fourtrak and it did everything I asked of it (except be economical. It was a petrol one). Got rid of it for a landy and miss the comfort of the Fourtrak.
