Went out for a walk round today for a couple of hours. Started off with a very quick bunny which I bowled over with the first shot; here is Dawn with the prize

I then continued on and did 1 particular ditch which runs toward a road; my hopes were if any woodcock flushed they would fly out the field past me so I could fire, but **** law meant every bird flew towards the road, 7 of them in total and not even a shot in anger. The next burn I came to I flushed another woodcock but this time it flew out the other side, but 50 yards further along I flushed another which I shot with the first shot.

The final area is a strip of small conifers. I flushed 3 which went out the other side without a shot and then I flushed another which I shot again with the first shot. Here is Dawn with the retrieve PICT0092.jpg

That finished my day, flushed 13 birds in total and if I had another person to walk the other side I would have had more birds. Here is a couple of pics of the bag (not pictured a rook which I shot on the way back to the car).

Rumour is theres a neolithic quarry up there somewhere that they used to make special axes out of. Would probably make a good clay ground lol

I dont know if it neolithic or anything mate  , but myself, Glensman and a few others already use it as a clay ground and rifle range :good:
