Salop Matt
I have a FAC rapid 7 mk 1 in .22 , But it is giving very poor groups ! Ive cleaned the barrel and tryed different pellets, best result is with Bisley magnums. So I guess to put it right I will need a new barrel for it ! But where can I get one from and at what cost ? Cheers Matt
snarepeg
Matt. Ithink you will find, as i did that the problem is the porting. Try facing gun down vertical with other pellets so they drop square past the port hole and try that, the magnum being a long pellet gets the head past with tail end still in rifleing at the back. Ihave gone to a normal porting in mine, still pushing 30ft/lb which is fine, and pin holes with accupel at about 980ft/ps, super flat shooting. john

Cheers Matt It will be very rare you need a new barrel for a Rapid, they are next to impossible to wear out, perhaps some crown issues but I assume you run it with a mod anyway. Try without a mod and make sure everything is tight. When did the problem start? http://www.rapid7ownersclub.com/index.php or Theoben direct if you cannot resolove the problem. sixhills 69
Hi I had the same problem with mine the AWT is not screw cut it is locked by a grub screw i found that the pellet was just catching the end on exit nocking them off. Try tacking the AWT off and see what happens its worth a try before you send it off to Theoben.

kdubya
Kdubya - where do you get the BSA barrels from and how much are they ? Cheers Matt I got mine done by sam bolton used to be at manchester airguns, BUT I dont think he is doing airguns now (shame as he was good) however if you go on airgun forum or airgun bbs and ask the question someone such as rapidnick or kevg will put you right, I got mine done when I had my guns converted to fac from 12lb jobs so did not have a specific price for a rebarrel / crowning etc but I cant imagine its to much at all. cheers KW

THEINVISIBLESCARECROW
Same problem here, exactly. Even with Bizmags, also tried JSB;s & AAFields as I had those 3 already, going to try H&N FTT next. I've turned it down to 26ftb to make things easier on the pellet. Once i find a pellet that works I'll tweek the power back up. I wonder if It's the silencer ? my AWT is UNF though, the previous owner used FTT pellets & I test shot the rifle & got an ok group. I originally put it down to eye position fussy scopes. Going to try a MTC Mamba & the FTT's the w/end. Shooting off a bipod ? if so it needs to be mounted at the end of the buddy bottle not the stock area, that's one hiccup I sorted out.
