red_stag88
Hi, There is a guy who lamps the rabbits near us in a very interesting way. He goes on foot with a hand lamp, lamps a rabbit and then.. (pause for effect) seens his hawk after the rabbits! Is this a common occourance or is it the mad folk near us..... Perhaps it is in the water......

Cranfield
I have never seen a hawk flown at night. I bet that is a sight to see. Perhaps training owls was too hard.

brooktrout
He sounds like a gem of a character Red Stag, look after him, and if it is in the water, pump some of it back into S Wales

columbus
Lamping rabbits with a harris hawk is not new, its been done for years if you just want to catch rabbits its fine. But the essance of hawking is the flight rather than the kill, and the spectacle of the hawk flying tends to get lost when lamping. I know a few people who have tried it, but given up after a while. As they found it boring.
