Kikkan
ok, so the answer to my question is the prime time is around this time? Edited February 24, 2006 by Kikkan
NorfolkBoy
At this time of year with the Spring drillings it should be an optimum period....BUT as we all know there are NO guarantees...... Personally I hope that early March will be good....I'm trekking (well flying actually) 3500 miles from the US to East Anglia for two days decoying .... regards NB
Cranfield
Kikkan, the "prime time" can vary in different parts of the Country, depending on the crop rotations, timings and alternatives. Winter rape can be good in some places(100 bird days reported on here), but Spring drillings can be better and later in the year the rape and wheat stubbles can be excellent. The best idea is to contact the Guide and ask their opinion, for their region.
M ROBSON
We get some good shooting in Feb and March, with the start of our drills going in mid March. I would say it is more consistant and less weather dependant once the drills go in and the birds start to break up out of the big groups. The last week in March through to the second week in April, then the last week in July and the first two weeks in August are when I would call prime time for us up here. Having said that big bags can pop up at any time, that's Pigeon shooting! ******************* Mark.
