  2. The answer lies here http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=73492
  3. I'll look into First Direct. I still use my UK Capital One credit card and their security is excellent. They will call me over here on my mobile if I use the card to establish its me using it and not a fraudulent transaction, very reassuring. An English English speaker as well:good: .
  4. Right. Under the mattress it goes then
  5. Update: 5 weeks and umpteen calls to downtown Bangalore later I've got my cash back - What a joke Barclays service has become, calls not returned and personnel who have trouble talking to you 'off script'. 5 weeks to investigate my case or 5 weeks for it to come to the top of the pile - Hmmmm? I just feel sorry for anyone behind me in their queue who needs their cash for Christmas :yp: I couldn't be bothered to ask who or what had transpired re. the theft. This whole affair was so tedious that I will be closing my Barclays A/C next week when I'm back in UK. Anybody recommend a bank?
  6. SS - You'll find evey nationality under the sun in NYC and the surrounding area. To give you an idea about just how multicultural it is my company employs 25 people of which only 5 were actually born in the USA - the rest are British, Spanish, Indian, Polish, Portuguese, Filipino, Colombian, Brazilian and some bloke from Ecuador.
  7. All the gun shops that I've ever been in have their guns 'barrel up' in the racks. On the assumption that they know more than I do I've always stored mine barrel up - lightly oiled.
  8. And not forgetting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONZ9bL2WGBE
  9. Must be a real giggle to be a moderator on there so muchos respect to those that offer support.

Martin Aaaah HUMMER - the ultimate in reverse Tardis engineering, as Martin says, how can something so BIG on the outside be so small on the inside? With gas prices on the up they can't give 'em away at the moment. I'll admit that the crew cab pickup model looks sort of cool.
  11. http://www.filson.com/family/index.jsp?cat...2065676.2065769 Filson is the answer - America's Barbour.....just a bit cheaper!
  12. Ooooh that brings back memories - learning to write proper joined up words, permanently inky fingers, ink soaked blotting paper missiles, jumpers for goal posts etc. I confess that I have a Mont Blanc for signing letters with - lovely to write with and it looks good too, shows that personal touch missing in most correspondence today.

    Remember

Interesting how things differ from case to case, county to county. An FLO acquaintance of mine recounted the story of a guy with an FAC who was going through a traumatic divorce. His GP concerned about his state of mind and knowing guns were in the house tipped off the relevant Constabulary. My guy was sent straight round with two uniformed officers and confiscated 25+ cf,rf rifles and shotguns. The individual cooperated but apparently wept buckets and pleaded witht them "don't take my babies". According to the FLO it was the most disturbing thing he had ever witnessed and he had knocked about a bit in his time c/o HM Forces.
  14. I'd like to donate but the U.S Surgeon General has decided that I can't because "y'all come from a country with Mad Cow Disease" Rrrrright
  15. I pledge to laugh when I see you in the dress !! A financial pledge please Tony Put me down for a tenner BUT the dress must be way more 'glam' than LB's grainsack.
  16. 1000 posts NB LB I can already feel the surge of my new super human powers or it might just be last nights chili
  17. Not at all Jonno, I'm just a bit jaded by US TV news channels such as NBC, CBS, Fox and CNN that love stories like this - they give them blanket coverage for quite literally hours and hours at a time. They'll squeeze a story for all its worth simply to fill airtime and increase ratings which fuels their advertising sales. Rather than simply report the facts, cases like this simply become circuses featuring panels of so called experts who simply spout hot air, speculating and making comparisons with the last nutter. Personally I want facts not opinons.
  18. Hmmm......having looked at that map and considered the distances involved, factored in the inevitable post Boxing Day shoot pi$$ up and early start required to get to Dartford I'll have to pass on this one and find something a little closer to home. See you in 2009.....
  19. It s all over the news as might be expected, just the sort of thing the sensationalist media love over here. The liberals will call for tighter gun control for a few days and then it will all be forgotten. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22116784/ Another introverted troubled young man wanting to die famous - job done. My condolences to those who lost loved one's.
