Axe Posted March 31, 2006 Report Share Posted March 31, 2006 The .17HMR can give you pin point accuracy which is very very effective on head shots of fox. I don't push the round out past 60 yards and havent had a problem at all. I have heard of the hollow point 20 grain being used at much greater distances to very good effect on chest shots as well. But why risk the unknown. There was a site posted recently all about the 17HMR and it is very impressive. I think it was www.varmintal.com.
