Replacing forend on Miroku

Changing another fore-end wood to your fore-end metalwork should be a straightforward swap. Fitting a complete new fore-end (wood and metal) to your gun's action might require a trip to the gunsmith to ensure it all fits properly though, as wear on contact faces might affect fit.

Really old Mirokus have a round shaped sprung loaded piece of metal on the underside of the fore-end that locates into the action, it was changed on later models and the two aren't interchangeable. My 800S made between 1976-80 has the later type of action if that helps.

There are two types in the last 25 years. The three hole and two hole. They are similar and could be adapted - bit of fiddling. Normally they fit straight away, but I bought a brand new one which didn't fit. I had to take a bit off here and there - didn't get it perfect.

If you get a used one of the same type, it should go straight one.
