elmar fudd
every room in my house has skirting, but my dad wont let me cut away a section of skirting to fit my cabinet so hes made a steel box out of 2 mm steel, this box is the same size as my cabinet minus the width of the skitring, so that my cabinet sits above the skirting but on a base, this steel box has been fixed to the skirting with four coach screws, then the cabinet has been fixed to the box via four bolts through the base, then fixed to the wall with 6 anchor bolts, and now im waiting for my feo to come and inspect it does this sound ok to you? thanks

HDAV
Mine is fixed above skirting - so yours should be ok! Did that for a mates cabinet, mine a packed the back out with MDF same depth as the skirting and bolted though the MDF which is screwed to the wall, FEO happy and skirting intact!
