Daveo26
Can anyone offer any advice, i want to fit a silencer to a 9mm garden gun. I was thinking of using a hushpower 9" .410 can but i think it would be too bulky and heavy. My friend uses a reamed out .22 silencer but i dont think the quietens the gun as much as it could. Is there anything in between without spending 3 times what the guns worth? Its for discreet pest control,
Alycidon
I really cant see why, the noise from one of these is pretty minimal, range is 10 yards on a good day. Only thing they are good for is ratting in a building where range is measured in feet. If you want a quiet weapon for use at these ranges buy an air rifle. Daveo26
I was going to add on the end of the original post please dont tell me to buy an air rifle because i assumed someone would. Anyway back to the question, has anyone fitted a silencer on a garden gun?
Edward
I have no idea, but could you cut the barrel down to sy 24" and the fit a 9" hushy to make it less nose heavy its just what came into my head when I read this.
Daveo26
Its 26" as standard so that wont acheive a great deal, but thanks for the useful idea
Daveo26
Im going for the Hushpower .410 silencer. Im going to post a video of the garden gun when the mods on. Hopfully showing its effectivness with different shot sizes.
JRDS
The 9 inch Mods are great, long but they weigh ****** all. The Gun will shoot low with one fitted so aim for the very top of the target.
drunkgerbils
Hi I have just fitted one of hushpowers 9" to my 9mm shotgun, and its brilliant! I have a hushpower .410 too, but its still too much gun for close range rats. I wish they would offer a subsonic load in the 2" as that would be great. But failing that, at less than about 8 yards the 9mm is fab in our garden rat, er, chicken run, and because the velocity is only about 600 fps anyway, its really really quiet. cant hit rabbits 123
I'm still working on my bolt action 410 project (Very slowly, still in the planning/drawings stage) Whats the effect of the mod on the smaller bore guns?
