al4x
it doesn't and its unlikely they will let you have it open on an initial grant. Have you got land to use it on thats ok for firearms

Luckyshot
You could try putting something like "on so and so farm and any other land that I have permission on" where you state you will be using you rifle but I wouldnt hold your breath. Getting an open condition on a first application is a bit hit and miss some get it some dont. You wont know until you try though so good luck. al4x
everybody "would like" an open ticket but its one of those things that for good reason doesn't happen often. Still good luck and report back
NorfolkPoacher
You may find mate that they allow you open for rimfire only. A lot of it is down to your consultation with your flo. Persuade him you have enough experience and need for open ticket and who knows. I got rimfire straight away on open but cf took 3 years of using .223 on designated land. It is doubtful but you never know until you ask him. Good luck anyway and keep us posted. Any other help needed feel free to pm me. apache
'Tis true, but don't N.Yorks only give out open licences, or is that myth? What my FEO told me, and then gave me. North Yorkshire is a big county if you wanted them to drive around looking at fields all day. Just ask them about it at your interview. No need to say when you apply. All they asked of me was to nominate land for each rifle that belonged to a FAC holder so it would definitely be cleared! Told me it speeds up the whole process - I am all for that.
