pegasus bridge
i need some help from anyone who owns one of these cabinets.. ive just had a new one arrive - and i cant get the door open! i think the door might just need a little encouragement - but before i start bending cutlery - can someone tell me if its in the unlock position. the keys will go in and turn to the right then stop about the 11ppm 5am positon (if this makes sense) - i'm guessing both keys need to be in this same position at the same time.. - is this the unlocked position ? (i'm pretty sure it is - but just wanted to confirm) your help would be much appreciated gents. cheers PB
phaedra1106
Is the gap around the door an equal width all round?, I had a Brattonsound which had to go back as it woulddn't open, looking at it it was fairly obvious it had been dropped on one corner as the door wasn't square in the cabinet. pegasus bridge
The door looks ok, it seems pushed in by a couple of mm at the bottom, I will be on the phone to the supplier in the morning.
lineshooter
I have a 10 gun Buffalo River one with the digital lock, when it arrived the door would unlock but only open about a foot, the fitting kit was inside and jamming the hinge. My youngest had to squeeze in with a torch so when I closed the door he could free the hinge. Just a thought.
Ian750
No mate, doesn't sound right. I have one of these and the unlock position of the keys is further round than that, more like 2 o clock / 7 oclock. This may sound like a really stupid question but mine does that when I have each key in the wrong lock, you are aware that the keys are specific to each lock and not interchangeable? phaedra1106
While we're mentioning Buffalo River safes ........... anyone know the cheapest supplier?, I'm going to need a bigger cabinet in a couple of months and have been looking at the Bronze or Silver series 10 gun, cheapest I've seen the 10 Bronze is £221 and £297 for the Silver from McAvoy Guns. lineshooter
Nice to see you got it sorted at no extra expense, I have a Brattonsound cabinet as well which has a top box so I have three locks to open with three keys, the guns I use regular now sit in the Buffalo safe with the digital lock, so I only have to make sure I don`t forget the code . pegasus bridge
I didn't get online until now, I could of told you that as I did the same, but didn't post it on PW, I have a bit of camo tape around the top key, as it gets suicidally annoying when you keep putting the wrong key in. my other cabinet has got the same key for both main locks, then another key for the ammo box inside,.. i opened the box and saw two sets of keys - i presumed it was the same set up.. much to my embarassment! Nice to see you got it sorted at no extra expense, I have a Brattonsound cabinet as well which has a top box so I have three locks to open with three keys, the guns I use regular now sit in the Buffalo safe with the digital lock, so I only have to make sure I don`t forget the code . cheers - i now have all my guns and ammo in one cabinet. happy days. No worries mate! I've done exactly the same as Kyska and put some tape round the shank of the top key as I kept doing exactly the same myself! Glad it was this and not a defective cabinet though! cheers - glad i found this out before calling the shop.
