We arrived at one of our permissions early this morn to a Field of rape to get set up and be ready before the woodys come out of the roost. We set a standard horse shoe out with the FUDs and the rotary. Around 8:AM the pigeons started to fill the trees around the rape field from the neighboring roost woods and one by one they started to drop in 10 yards from the hedgerow opposite us and before we new it there was around 150 down and not looking at the rotary/decoys. I got lucky as a high one pealed away from the flock and i got it nice high shot to start the day but as i did all the woodys go up and left in a hurry back to the woods they had just came from. It got to 10:AM and me and my dad decided to leave my granddad in the hide whilst we took the dog for walk round. Walking the hedgerows in the next field my dog (Teal) put a big cock pheasant out unfortunately the wrong side and my dad only got a quick snap shot off and missed  . With it being frozen we walked a ditch that produced two mallard and i got a drake going away, a couple of minutes later the dog put two English partridge up and my dad stoned one going away a good 40yd shot. When we got back to the hide my granddad had had another 9 woodys so not a bad way to end the season and what a season its been, can't wait for the next one!!! :good::good::good:
