Dorsey
So did you guys get out shooting at all? Do tell - i'm starved of pigeon action so wanna know what's going on!
southeastpete
well, me and sam were rained out today, and i managed to meet andrew for some lamping, but no joy there either, too bright of an evening! Im having best results out my window with the air rifle, 1 or 2 a day lol.
CZ550Kevlar
i found more rabbits out during the day than at night, however i now have new batteries for my NV so i think i`m going to take my .17hmr out during the day and at night and ambush them. southeastpete
good plan. the 17 hmr does it make much of a mess of the bunnies, or are they still very edible?
Catweazle
good plan. the 17 hmr does it make much of a mess of the bunnies, or are they still very edible? Head shots will be fine, shoulder shots a bit unpredictable - sometimes a 10p sized exit hole and little damage, sometimes a lot worse. If you hit one mid body it'll be messy. CZ550Kevlar
Head shots will be fine, shoulder shots a bit unpredictable - sometimes a 10p sized exit hole and little damage, sometimes a lot worse. If you hit one mid body it'll be messy. As above, impact damage from .17hmr is variable, sometimes there is a small hole other times hit the same spot and half the head is missing, either way a headshot does no damage to the edible bit. I`m attempting to get out to the grass field this Tuesday morning, set up a hide along the fence and get them as they pop out, then revisit in the evening.
