chippy18
What sort of times has everyone been experiencing with renewal times. Just had my renewal visit all OK but told to expect a minimum of 2 months to get new cert. Must admit extremely shocked at this for renewal, it didn't take that long to get my first Firearms cert. They only send out the renewal pack 4 weeks before your cert runs out and they wont let you apply before then, so old one runs out month or so before new one arrives, Great. Bradders
My daughter just had her SGC renewed, and hats off to Kent Police because it was done within 2 weeks of her sending the forms back..... my FAC variation was also done it less that 3 weeks and that included a land check..... Just looking at some of the past posts regarding renewals/applications and it is amazing how much the times vary according to different counties. I had assumed that as they sent out renewal forms four weeks before that they would have it back to me.It never used to be like this with Sussex Police, they used to be good. What a service. Cheers I would think you will have it back before it runs out otherwise you could be right in the mire... I cannot see them letting you have guns and no certificate for 4 weeks....

However like you I would imagine it will be back well before as lets face it, the admin is mostly done by then and it just needs signing off and printing out
Pigeon Paul
I put in my SGC application this time last year (Hants) and had my certificate in 4 weeks. A colleague applied for his 3 weeks ago and has only just had a letter confirming receipt of application and advising him that he will will have a home visit in the next 2-3 weeks, Then he will have to attend local police station for his interview!! I have never heard of this before. maybe he has something in his past that I am not aware off

chippy18
I did question not having a valid cert and holding guns and was also told that as hold up was their end it was not a problem. Still not right, had arranged to buy another gun of someone on here and was also selling one which I am now unable to do. Cheers
