gary coyle
http://www.ukshootwarehouse.com/shop/PIGEON+DECOYING+EQUIPMENT/Batteries+and+Chargers/Battery+Large.html Try the above link for this 12v 17ah battery which will last all day and i think PW members get a 10%discount using a voucher code pinned somewhere on here. For chargers i would get one from Clarkes Tools which has a maximum charging current of 800ma and costs just under 12.00 Hope this helps

fuzrat
cheers mate, Smaller battery might be the way to go. Especially in this weather when its so muddy, big heavy battery is fine in the summer when I can drive over the stubbles or pull my fishing trolley and will be out for longer. At the moment the trolley just gums up with a ton of mud round the wheels Cheers, Fuzrat
paddywack12
I have just ordered a rotary and intend using the battery off my old mans golf trolley. I think it is a 12v 22a will this be ok on a standard magnet. Not worried too much about the weight as I can drive all over my permission. Cosd
Hi Vampire, how long does your 7.2ah last on the magnet? I have a 17ah which is like carrying a car (weighs nearly a stone!)need something a bit lighter. Fuzrat Don't mean to argue against what you're saying here, but a magnet draws around 2amps an hour, a 7.2amp battery will give you just over 3 hours of good use before it slows down. Obviously every magnet is slightly different in it's current draw and using dead birds cuts the time more than say Hyperflaps which weigh very little. I use a 15amp battery as I find this size to be the best compromise. Compact and 2kg's lighter than a 17amp. I do carry a spare 7amp in the car as I bought one of these when I first bought a magnet but find I rarely use it. I get about 8hrs of strong use out of it using a speed controller and real birds.
