Dr D
had a spin around this morning about 11am. Found field with about 800-1000 birds on it. half on spuds and half on the grass field over the hedge munching happily away on clover. There was absolutely no wind. So, I took my time had something to eat and just kept watching. The wind picked up a little bit about 1.30pm and I decided the time had come to make a move. I Set up with 2 bouncers, magnet and 50 shells. Shot between 2-4pm and picked up 43. not bad going at all and some beautiful decoyed birds that dropped out of the sky from heavens high. great fun. will post some pics later. hope everyone else had a good day. FalconFN
Well done, I saw over 100 dropping onto a small grass field of clover, probably no more than half a acre but as soon as I got there they lifted and didn't return. Cookiemonsterandmerlin.
Maybe the clover type is not what there after they prefer white clover to red clover. Cheers Cookie
pigeon controller
We had a drive around the rape yesterday when the rain stopped and could only find the birds on clover. So we when for the easy set up on a flock of approx 100 birds and picked up 48 at the end of the day.
Dr D
Birds here are on the clover now and off the spuds completely. However, despite my best efforts I could'nt get onto them yesterday. they were spilt up and no real established flightline to speak of. got 5 and spent the rest of the time watching birds everywhere except where i wanted them. if the weather holds the barley will be going in this week. so hopefully things will be better next week.
