karlbird
See the plethora of items on here ref the Hatsans, then make your own mind up. Pros - 350 for a new one, 3 years warranty, multi-choke, etc etc Cons - Cannot please anyone and someone will be on here to tell you they are **** and avoid them. I bought one for the same reasons you have and I am getting on well with it.
Breastman
Not for £350, but save up another £100 and get a Baikal MP-153, i've heard nothing but good things Mark
woodentermite
is that just the average price for the baikal?
semiautolee
hi woodentermite, i own a hatsan escort 28'' barrel have done for two year now and it has never let me down once, some people swear by them, some people swear at them , i use mine for all types of shooting e.g fox, rabbits, decoying and find it a nice gun to use in the field, you can pick them up for around £350 brand new well thats what i payed for mine. but i must say if you fancy a hatsan dont get the one with loading button on the side its nothing but a pain in the neck. mine is the new style where you just push on the loading gate to load. much better. no doubt you will be getting a lot of mixed feelings about the hatsan. i swear by mine. like i say never let me down and they are a good gun for the money. if you look after the gun, the gun will look after you i always say. also you get a 3 year warranty, and its a multi choke. like i said above good guns for the money. goog luck Edited February 18, 2011 by semiautolee
The Duncan
So far in the poll I put on regarding the hastsan escort, about 80% (or four fifths) are happy or very happy with the gun, about 20% or a fifth are unhappy/very unhappy with the gun. If you get a new one and aren't happy - take it back because if its faulty, that is what the guarantee is for. Duncan
Breastman
is that just the average price for the baikal? Its probably the lower end of the price scale to be honest, they seem to go for £450-650. Just need to shop around If you do go for the Hatsan, definitely get the one without the loading button, i've never seen such pointless engineering! Colster
If you're considering second hand, £350 would get you a decent Beretta A3xx
0145wirbelwind
A Remington 1100 is a good start, ok it will be old, but what a gun
poorpeet
If you go for the Hatsan (TBH why wouldn't you?) try all the barrel lenghs. I have the 28" version but since getting it I've tried the others. The 26" and especially the 24" feel much nicer to me. On the subject of the loading button, I've just got used to it and it's not an issue now.
