Duffryn
Hi, Haven't shot Pigeons for 20 years and looking to get back into it. I'm a little confused by all the new kit out there - magnets, flappers, poles, lofting, hypa flaps etc I'm lukcy to have a fairly decent size budget so not too limited in this respect.Would really appreciate some advice on the kit I should go for in terms of hide and decoys to get me back into enjoying the sport ? deny essex
Flocked decoy shells minimum 10, if just after one hide net a "stealth" net , hide poles quality with a kicker if you want them to last, not a cheap magnet but respectable quality, speed controler and a 17 amp hour battery to suit and charger, hypa flaps for the magnet if you dont want to take dead birds to put on the magnet initialy, 2x respectable bouncers and a good bum seat. basic "modern" kit I would say . Lofters personaly i dont use them too much but a handy extra in the 4x4 if needed, wobbly sticks for the decoys for some movement an advantage flapper for the same reason. Check out our site sponsers , quality and a PW discount too Edited February 17, 2011 by deny essex

retromlc
i pretty much have all the above except 30 flocked 1/2 shells,3 bouncers,2 hyperflaps and a camo net and a stelth net, unless you plan to exchange real pigeons for the hypa flaps once you shot a few i would buy a light weight hyperflap only rotary .I am 45 and all that kit plus a gun and say 100 carts and a flask and food is over 30 kg strapped to your back, and at my age that gets heavy walking around the edge of a ploughed field, just bear that in mind,if you haven't shot pigeons for 20 yrs you were 19 and fitter. I with you on that one add a respectable bag of birds for the march back and its dive for the nearest oxygen tank! But I have come up with a Cunning plan, mentor a younger stronger newbie like I do, 1st basic decoy training, carry me kit I just know hes gonna come on and say something nice about me now

I'm 58 and recovering from Cancer..... if i can't drive across the field all i take is a dozen shell decoys and maybe a floater or two .... plus of course the usual flask, cart.,hide etc.... But sometimes minimal kit is no handicap to having a good days shooting.... Dave
