Catweazle
Does slowing the magnet down encourage birds that are normally scared off by it ?
semiautolee
it will save on your battery. when the air is quiet of birds. i dont think it will make much difference to be honest. i could be wrong tho.
deny essex
Rotary speed should be adjusted to match the birds flight on the day ,but not the ones that go by rocket fast, only keeping an eye on the real birds will give you an indication as what the speed should be. I ve run them fast and slow in different conditions in different winds. its a play with it and see thing .
stripey999
Last time I was out my battery ran out of power slowing the magnet down to a trickle. The birds were giving me a wide berth until I changed the battery then they came back again. Unfortunately this battery was old and ran out after 2 hours and again, the birds veered off after seeing the slow magnet. I changed to the third and last battery and everything picked up again. From all this I concluded that they like the movement of the magnet to be reasonably quick to mimick birds that are about to land but when too slow, they seem to be scared off.
